General Summary:

The District Sales Manager for this region will be responsible for high density Pharma and Biopharma areas within the west coast primarily around San Francisco / East Bay, Los Angeles / Orange County, San Diego and the Pacific Northwest. The candidate will be responsible for driving and achieving high revenue growth targets for the Pharma and Biologics industries in this region.

This position will 1) have a deep understanding of the regional market environment 2) develop, nurture and manage a high performance sales team located on the west coast 3) work in conjunction with the Business Development team for strategic customer relationships with innovator and generic pharma / biopharma accounts 4) develop tactical (short term) and strategic plans (long term) with for aggressive growth that align with company strategic initiatives that include account planning / mapping, funnel management, technical seminars etc.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

The District Sales Manager is responsible for leading, directing, managing, and training a group of Sales team members to ensure assigned sales projects, targets and initiatives are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure District meets or exceeds annual sales and gross profit goals
  • Forecast Sales Revenue on a regular basis for the District
  • Attract, develop train, and support sales team members to exceed expectations through ongoing development of incentive programs, activities, and mentoring for career growth and development
  • Plan, develop and implement sales and support programs for Sales team to accomplish specific company, departmental, brand & product objectives
  • Analyze trends and data within a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to support growth of District Sales objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or other related Science required. Advanced Degree preferred
  • Ability to analyze, facilitate dialogue across a group or team, communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a new or different point of view
  • Ability to lead and motivate others
  • Well organized, ability to plan and assign resources appropriately
  • Industry knowledge is required
  • Ability to travel as needed
